Safe.Strong. Affordable.
I am honored to announce my candidacy for the California State Senate in District 38. As a lifelong Oceanside resident, I have always believed our state is one of the most beautiful places in the world. From our coastline to our open spaces, California should be a place that draws people in and gives families the chance to build strong, stable futures.
But today, too many Californians are being pushed out of the state they love. The rising cost of living has made it difficult for families to stay rooted here, and it is making it even harder for the next generation to imagine a future in their hometowns. Our children deserve to be able to afford a house in the communities they grew up in, close to the families and neighborhoods that shaped them.
I believe we must address the policies that have made life unaffordable. That means reining in wasteful spending that drives inflation, stopping unnecessary new taxes, and removing the barriers that make housing so expensive and so difficult to build. California should be a place where people can get ahead, not a place they feel forced to leave.
My life has been shaped by this community. Taylor and I raised our six children here, and for many years we were deeply involved in local community theater, supporting youth and the arts. I built a career grounded in trust and responsibility as a licensed real estate professional, a licensed professional fiduciary, and the owner of two local businesses. I also serve as a San Diego County Civil Service Commissioner, work with local businesses through the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, and volunteer with organizations that strengthen the cultural and spiritual life of our district.
As someone who has lived on the coast my entire life, I care deeply about protecting our shoreline and the natural beauty that defines our region. We must take responsible, science-based steps not only to preserve our beaches, but to restore the great beaches of North County to their former glory, so future generations can experience the same vibrant, thriving coastline we’ve been so fortunate to call home.
Public safety also remains essential to the health of our communities. Every person deserves to feel safe in their home and neighborhood. I support a balanced approach that gives law enforcement the tools they need, strengthens accountability for serious offenses, and maintains fairness within our justice system.
I am running for State Senate because I want California to remain the exceptional place it has always been, not a place families feel they must leave behind. I will work every day to make life more affordable, protect our natural treasures, support safe neighborhoods, and ensure the promise of California remains within reach for the people who call it home.
